Jimmy Bryant Set to Speak at Annual FCHS Meeting

Jimmy Bryant, former UCA Archivist who is now Director of Arkansas Heritage for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, will be the guest speaker at the annual meeting of the Faulkner County Historical Society which will be held Thursday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Mills Library located in Hendrix College’s Mills Center.

Bryant, a Conway resident and former Faulkner County Historical Society board president, now oversees the four heritage museums and four heritage resource agencies that work to preserve, protect and promote the natural and cultural history of Arkansas. Continue reading

Waddy William Moore III
January 29, 1928 – June 15, 2019

Waddy William Moore III, of Conway passed away on the morning of June 15, 2019 at the age of ninety-one years and six months. He was the only son of Waddy William Moore, Jr. and Floretta Elizabeth Williams Moore, both deceased.

He is survived by Gay, his wife of almost sixty-six years, their two daughters, Bonnie Moore McNeely (Dennis) of Roswell, GA and Elizabeth Moore Peatross (Kenneth) of Little Rock, AR, and five grandchildren, William Charles McNeely, Elizabeth McNeely, Lucy Moore, Rachel Peatross and Shea Peatross. Springfield Bridge Project Receives More Honors

The Faulkner County Historical Society has been named a finalist for the Arkansas Heritage Award to be presented at the Henry Awards ceremony during the 44th Annual Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The conference will be held in West Memphis, March 11-13.
